I follow several retro and vintage blogs and I always enjoy the Playgirl photos. It was men like these that first caught my eye when discovering my sexuality as a teenager in the mid to late 1970s, first in my father’s straight porn magazines and then in Playgirl when I was able to buy it myself from local newsagents. 1970s Playgirl set my taste in men and I still find men like this attractive. I spoke to a friend who is a psychologist about this and he said we remember the things that made the greatest impression on us, especially if they are positive thoughts and memories. Discovering that I was attracted to men rather than women didn’t always feel positive at the time, but I can look back now with great memories of discovering who I was through Playgirl.
