Of Croatian descent, he was born William Cumpanas and his ex-wife, Shirley Anni Njos, reveals alot about him in her autobiography, "No Coincidences Only Miracles". She was involved in an explosive love triangle with both Bill and his best friend, Christian Brando back in the mid-80s and claims it wasn't the 1996 motorcycle accident that made Stoner a quadriplegic. It was one of his surgeons who left an instrument in his back after the first operation and his family eventually won a seven-figure settlement with the hospital after Stoner died. His last film role was as Sharon Stone's first victim (the rock star, "Boz") in "Basic Instinct" which may have been something of an in-joke since, as usual, Bill Cable's total package was on full display.
